DESCRIPTION

Trail route: Remetea – Josani – Goila – Vălani de Pomezeu – Câmpani de Pomezeu – Pomezeu – Sitani – Luncasprie – Albioarei Gorge – Runcuri Plateau – Poniță – Crystal Cave from Farcu Mine – Lazuri de Roșia – Roșia- Căbești – Josani – Remetea

From Remetea start towards Josani, and turn left at the intersection signposted with a road sign to Goila. After the first houses in Goila there is an intersection in Y, and we will take the road on the left which begins to descend slightly, and then accentuated by a small forest. We continue on until we reach Vălani de Pomezeu where we turn left towards Câmpani de Pomezeu. There are basically two variants of doing this: either on the county road or on the communal road that connects the two villages. If you follow the second option you will have more to climb. From the big intersection of Campani de Pomezeu, located at the end of the village, with the Pentecostal Church, we continue towards Pomezeu.

At the intersection at the entrance to Pomezeu turn right, pass through Sitani and reach Luncasprie where we will turn on the first street to the right after the cemetery. We take this road, we leave the village, and we continue to go on this road in a climb that winds through forests, meadows and meadows. The only intersection we will meet is the one with the road coming from Răcaș, so we will turn right and follow the main road (the most used). We continue to climb and lower the slope, our target being the county road that crosses the Albioara Gorges. Up there we will meet two roads on the right, but we are just heading ahead. After a sharp descent we reach the Gorges of Albioarei where we will turn left to the next intersection with a road to the right, towards Runcuri Plateau. Before the intersection with about 200 meters, right at the entrance to the meadow, we will meet a spring with cold water, only good for refueling.

From here we climb the Runcuri Plateau, passing through mourning and meadows. We follow the main road and not long afterwards we begin to descend towards Poniță, quite accentuated. After passing the first two houses, there is an intersection where we turn left. We cross the village only downhill (at one point you have to turn left, the variant still before requires a small climb, but still in the same place). After turning left at the intersection mentioned, we will cross the river on the left, the houses will deteriorate, and we will pass through fenced meadows.

This section does not last long, so at the next intersection we will turn left, towards the Crystal Cave in the Farcu Mine. We climb slightly on the road that follows the valley to the end of the village, where the road crosses the water, turns sharply to the right and begins a more demanding ascent to the cave. Here we have several activities at hand: visiting the cave, trying the Tyrolean route or taking the thematic route Stanu Cârnului nearby. In order to continue towards Lazuri we follow the road that turns right at 180 degrees to the cave, from the direction from which we originally came.

At the next intersection both variants lead to Lazuri, but the one on the left is lighter because it is only downhill. From Lazuri we follow the road to Rosia where we cross the main road and turn left, towards Remetea. About 200 meters from the intersection there is a water mill on the right side, which can be visited.
