Day 1

Fly to Bucharest (on your own). 3-hour transfer to a local guesthouse in the town of Zărnești, at the foot of Piatra Craiului National Park.

Days 2&5

You will be driven to one of the valleys with recent lynx or bear activity.

Afterwards, there are possibilities, on request, for extra activities, during day-time, such as: hiking and wildlife tracking, visit a shepherd camp, visit some of the local historical places, hike or bike on one of the beautiful valleys close-by, paraglide, horse ride or just relax in the garden with a glass of home-made blueberry liquor or plum brandy, or the local “bear beer”.

In the afternoon you will hike to special places in order to see wildlife in their natural habitat.

Day 3

Zărnești Canyon-Măgura village

Easy walk in the limestone canyon of Zărnești Gorge, followed by a gentle climb through a forest teeming with wildlife up to the traditional mountain village of Măgura.

Day 4

Colții Chiliei – Bârsa Valley, bear hide

Guided walk through Zărnești towards Colții Chiliei.
Late in the afternoon you will be taken to one of the bear hides in the area where wild bears are attracted with food in order to be observed.

Day 6

The Narcissus Forest (Poiana Vadului), bear hide

Visit a protected area- an oak forest, home of a variety of birds and butterflies as well as numerous mammals. In the evening you will be taken to a second bear hide.

Day 7

Brașov medieval town, beaver watching in the evening

Drive to Brașov, where you can enjoy a guided tour, followed by an authentic lunch and free time. In the afternoon, you will meet your wildlife expert and drive to one of the monitoring spots of the beavers.

Day 8

Transfer back to the airport.
