DESCRIPTION

Olt river is one of the nicest and most natural rivers in Romania. During our trip we can discover the amazing nature which surrounds us. We can rest in the shade trees growing on the river bank, we can observe several bird species (kingfisher, white and black storks, ducks, lesser spotted eagles, etc) or even mammals such as the beaver which lives in the river. On a two-day trip we can spend the night in tents or if needed we can sleep in local guesthouses. If we decide to camp we can prepare a traditional gulaș dish to enjoy by the campfire. On the second day we can go for a hike or visit Racoş geological reserve (basalt columns).

Paddling on the Olt can be an active break for tourists who are visiting the Saxon part of Transylvania, Sighișoara or Brașov.
