If you still are South from Gutâi, but you wish to go “over the hill”, to Țara Maramureșului, this is the path that brings you closest to Creasta Cocoșului – the giant volcanic rock overlooking the Eco Maramureș ecotourism destination, carrying you away from busy roads. Crossing forests and clearings, this trail has many attractive sights, places reminding one of imperial times or of legendary Hajduks. However, the joy of pedalling towards the Creasta Cocoșului foothills comes with a price: this trail is challenging and recommended for trained cyclists.
