DESCRIPTION
The Rhododendron Celebration occurs in June, once the Rhododendron has bloomed on Călimani mountain peaks. This plant, which grows at high altitudes and forms, for two weeks, spectacular natural tapestries, is also known as the mountain peony.
The event gathers the entire community in the area and promotes the natural and cultural values of Țara Dornelor. A wide range of activities occur during the festival: sculpture, painting, and photography exhibitions, artistic shows, book releases, visits to the Călimani National Park Visitor Centre, and traditional crafts fair.
