DESCRIPTION
Each year, Vatra Dornei Town Hall organizes the Winter Festival called “Porniți plugul, feți frumoși” (“Start Ploughing, Handsome Lads!”). This event promotes the winter customs and traditions in Țara Dornelor. On this occasion, the most valuable folk music ensembles and groups of carol singers meet, proving that the heritage and the identity of the Romanian people are still alive. The festival stands out from other such events through its folk clothes and traditional folk masks parades, as well as the local traditional carols.
