DESCRIPTION
An evening dedicated to Nichita Stănescu’s poetry, who fell in love with Maramureș and visited Desești village twice. For over 40 years, at the end of September, the village becomes a cradle of Romanian poetry, resounding with the verses of the great poet. On this occasion, many great Romanian poets, but also French, Czech, Hungarian, Ukrainian, Serbian, Slovakian, Austrian and Bessarabian writers found their support. This cultural event is organized by Uniunea Scriitorilor din România (the Romanian Writers’ Union), the branch in Maramureș, and Asociația Culturală „Nichita Stănescu” in Desești, in partnership with Desești Town Hall and Local Council.
