DESCRIPTION
Every year, around July 2nd – the day of Stephen the Great’s passing – Târgu-Neamț becomes the scene of one of the largest historical and medieval cultural reenactment events in Romania: the Days of the Neamț Citadel.
For three days, the city on the Ozana Valley transforms into a space of living history. Knightly camps, medieval orders, craftsmen and reenactors from the country and abroad reconstruct the atmosphere of medieval Moldova, through combat demonstrations, weaponry techniques, parades in period costumes and reenactments inspired by chronicles and legends.
The event takes place in several emblematic spaces: the Neamț Citadel, the “Stefan cel Mare” open-air amphitheatre, the “Citadel” Stadium at the foot of the medieval fortification.
