DESCRIPTION
Bison Adventure Race is a mountain adventure competition held in Vânători-Neamț Nature Park, challenging the physical and mental endurance of teams over an unmarked course of 200–300 km (long race) or 100 km (short race). The race involves multiple disciplines such as mountain biking, trail running, orienteering, kayaking, rope activities, cave exploration, and more. Teams must reach control points using only a map provided 12 hours before the start. In the long race, teams consist of 4 members (at least one of each gender), with a time limit of 50 hours; in the short race, teams are made up of 2 members, with a 24-hour time
limit.
Organized by the Ținutul Zimbrului Association, the event promotes Romania’s protected areas—each team must be named after one—and the route largely takes place within the Vânători-Neamț Nature Park. Participation fees vary depending on the registration period: 1,600 RON until July 6, 2,000 RON until July 31, and 2,500 RON during the final registration week. The fee covers the race kit and logistics for the competition.
