DESCRIPTION

The ANONIMUL Festival is an annual, competitive, unspecialized event, organized by Fundatia Anonimul / Anonimul Foundation. The programme of the Festival includes three competitive sections (long feature, fiction short feature and animation short feature), but also non-competitive programmes: International Panorama – award-winning films in other festivals during that year, tributes, retrospectives, Romanian films features, special programmes, public debates – filmmakers – film critics – guests.

The festival was initiated by Fundatia ANONIMUL / Anonimul Foundation, which wanted a different kind of film festival, for independent films and young directors.

The ANONIMUL International Independent Film Festival takes place in August each year, in Sfântu Gheorghe, Danube’s Delta – a magical place, where the Danube meets the Black Sea, a new land with ancient rites. Sfântu Gheorghe is an isolated location, secluded from the daily routines, only being accessible by air or on water and which, in August each year welcomes around 5,000 guests, coming especially to take part in ANONIMUL.

It is a small village, with lanes covered in soft sand, which has preserved many ancient rites, a magical place, of troubling beauty, a new land for an event dedicated to the youth, to free spirits, to meetings, debates and dialogue.

`Satul Filmului’ includes Green Village Complex and Green Dolphin Camping, with all the amenities necessary to organize a film festival. Movie-fans stay in guesthouses, tents or cabins, they can watch films all day inside the cinema and all night in the open air, on the giant screen onsite. The design of the complex is eco-friendly, in perfect harmony with the environment.
