In Târgu-Neamț, the city in the Land of the Biscuit, the cultural spring begins with Ion Creangă. Here, the great storyteller from Humulești is not just an author studied in textbooks, but an integral part of the identity of the place.
The 2026 program brings together artistic moments and performances inspired by Ion Creangă’s work, thematic exhibitions and competitions, a cultural symposium, a concert-performance inspired by “Childhood Memories”. At the same time, the ceremony of awarding the title of Honorary Citizen of the city of Târgu-Neamț to the writer Mircea Cărtărescu will take place in Humulești, in the context of the National Prize for Prose “Ion Creangă” – Opera Omnia, a moment that places the event in the national cultural circuit.
