HRI Vitalion Tușnad Marathon is a competition for amateur and professional athletes alike. The sporting event’s goal is to raise awareness on the benefits of working out in nature. Tușnad Marathon starts in the heart of the Szekerland, from Băile Tușnad, and ends at Sfânta Ana Lake.
Semi-marathon, but more difficult…
The running distance is of a mere 23 km, therefore this is only held to be more like a semi-marathon than a marathon. But due to the 750 m level difference and the degree of difficulty faced by the runners, the organizers thought they rather call it Marathon. The 23 km can be completed individually, or in 2-3 persons’ relays.
