DESCRIPTION
Day 1. Our guide will meet you at the Debrecen Airport (Hungary) and will take you by car (60 km) to Oradea, Romania. Oradea is a multicultural city well-known for its Art Nouveau architecture.
Short rest and lunch at a local restaurant then head on to Pădurea Craiului Mountains. Arrival at guesthouse in Roșia. At dinner the guide will introduce you into local atmosphere and will give details on the next days programme.
Day 2. Visit the Crystals Cave in Farcu mine, unique in Romania for the abundance and variety of calcite crystals covering its walls. The cave is accessible only through a mine gallery where a little mining museum is arranged. After the visit have fun and adrenaline on a 200 m zip line traversing a forested valley.
Discover Rosia Valley by following a thematic route that leads to a wonderful panorama point, above Lazurilor Valley Gorge. Then embark on an underground adventure and explore a technical cave by passing through passages, galleries and halls covered with an amazing variety of speleothems.
End the day at the guesthouse with a generous dinner, stories and a palinca (local plum brandy) tasting.
Day 3. Explore Roșia area on foot and by bike. Hike among the high limestone walls along Cuților Gorge, learn about rare species of plants growing here and admire the impressive portals of the caves from this picturesque valley.
After lunch take the bikes and ride over the vast karstic plateaus, discovering tiny villages and hamlets scattered over the hills.
Day 4. Visit Meziad Cave, one of the most interesting caves in the Western Carpathians, with impressive halls and speleothems including a natural bridge and home for 13 species of bats.
Afterward we’ll drive to Oradea for lunch at a local restaurant, then onward to Debrecen Airport for your flight home.
