DESCRIPTION
Alma-Via Guesthouse is located in the village of Alma Vii, nestled in the Transylvanian hills between Sibiu and Mediaș. The main building dates back to 1871, when it was built as a typical Saxon farmhouse. It now holds 6 cozy guestrooms, each with different character, size and shape. What they all have in common are very comfortable, handmade beds, a cozy wall-heating that will keep you warm in the winter, and ensuite bathrooms.
The restaurant can be found in an antique barn. Like the guestrooms, it was lovingly renovated by architect Jan Hülsemann. He made sure that only natural building materials, such as clay, hemp, straw, wood and terracotta were used during the process. Now this is the place where you will be treated to scrumptious breakfasts, homemade lunches and hearty dinners.
In the big garden you can enjoy stunning views of the village’s fortified church, a swim in a natural swimming pond, or simply a drink or a coffee with a good book. If you feel like exploring, you will find the fortified church down the road, which now hosts a lovely local museum as well as occasional art exhibitions. If you want to go further, you can visit a local shepherd or beekeeper on foot or in a horse carriage, marvel at the UNESCO heritage church in Biertan or spend a day in the nearby medieval city of Sighișoara.
