DESCRIPTION
The „Straița Plină” festival is held every year at the beginning of October, in Roșia, where all the local producers meet after they have finished harvesting. In an informal, atmosphere, this event gathers people from all over the area, but also from all over the country. Even from its first edition, the main aim of the event was to be the place where urban dwellers join in the folk traditions. Besides the classical Zacuska, jams, pickles or cordials, the visitors can taste fresh pork products, cheeses, apiculture products, trout patés, smoked trout and many other delicacies. In Pădurea Craiului ecotourism destination, the visitors will be able to see the Crystal Cave in Farcu Mine, located only a few km away, or Meziad Cave, 15 km away, both accessible to visitors.
Children and adults alike may also enjoy many creativity workshops, where they will be able to learn the secrets of traditional occupations like pottery, loom weaving, making bead chokers, egg decorating, felting and tanning, from Bihor’s renowned folk craftsmen (Raul Bocșe, Florița Codoban or Dorina Hamza). Besides these, there are also stone carving workshops, hand knitting, painting, musical instruments, sung stories, climbing on beer crates and archery. The event is organized by „Orizont Verde” Association, Roșia Commune Townhall and C.A.P.D.D. Bihor.
