Professional Team
Discover the beauty of Romania, having fun, unforgettable moments in nature – taking part in Mountain Ecology
Educational Camps, offered by the Professional Team. In these camps, participants will get close to nature, and to
Romania’s customs and traditions. We are offering much more than ecological education, we also teach participants
the skills of mountain trekking, climbing, horse riding, caving, mountain orientation, etc. Our camps take place in the
Piatra Craiului National Park and a part of the activities are organised and carried out in collaboration with the Park
administration. Participating in these camps helps towards biodiversity conservation in the Piatra Craiului National Park,
because a proportion of the camp price is offered to the National Park for conservation work.
What?
-
ecological education camps for young people aged 10 years and over.
-
tours in the Piatra Craiului National Park focused on getting to know the plants
and animals, the local history and Romanian traditions.
-
camps are intended for small and medium sized groups (between 15 and 30
people).
- a different workshop every day.
-
beginners workshops in climbing, horse riding, caving, mountain orientation,
survival skills, hiking, mountain biking, etc.
-
support for the Piatra Craiului National Park Administration; promoting nature,
wildlife and rural culture conservation, sustainable development and waste
recycling.
Where?
- All the activities of the Camp are focused around the Piatra Craiului National Park area.
When?
-
Camps can take place throughout the year. In winter, special attention is given to suitability of equipment (clothing
and footwear) because Piatra Craiului gets deep snow and it can be very cold (temperatures are usually below
-10°C).
-
Warm and usually dry weather is best appreciated in May - June (excellent time for wild flowers, hay meadows and
migrating birds) and September - October (autumn colours). Temperatures in the Piatra Craiului mountains are not
too hot even in July - August.
How?
-
Camp participants will be divided into 5 teams - at the end of the camp a competition will be held between them
with prizes awarded by the organisers.
-
Each day participants will be instructed in the different workshops:
climbing, horse riding, caving, mountain orientation, survival skills,
hiking, mountain biking, etc., by qualified instructors.
-
Evening visits can be arranged to a nearby bear watching hide in total
safety (supplement payable by those who wish to take part).
-
Contact with local history will be provided with visits to Bran Castle,
Rasnov Fort and the old citadel of Brasov.
-
Participants who wish to do so can get involved in conservation activities
in conjunction with the Piatra Craiului National Park Administration,
during one of the days.
-
Support is given to local communities by using local services, guides
and specialists as often as possible.
-
The Camp will operate with a minimum of 15 participants and a maximum
of 30. Applications are accepted from individual participants and groups.
Participants will be added to a list until the minimum number has been
reached. At this point a deposit will be requested.
