In February 2008, eight guesthouses in or nearby Retezat National Park obtained a double award: the PAN Parks Certification and the AER Eco-certified award. This means that they observe the principles of ecotourism promoted by AER and represent best practice examples of ecotourism as part of the Europeanwide PAN Parks network. 
Iris Guesthouse, It is situated 800 m altitude, in the commune Rau de Mori, inside the Retezat National Park and 5 km from the edge of the Nature Reserve Retezat-Gemenele, within easy reach from Hateg. It is a starting point for mountain lovers, sports lovers and hikers. It offers accommodation for 19 people in 1 en-suite room with three beds and 8 en-suite rooms with two single beds. There is a large carpark and a large courtyard, and the restaurant can cater for 30 people. The groundfloor is suitable for seminars and conferences
